Di-Bak T (Tebuthiuron)

BHA’s Di-Bak T (Tebuthiuron)

BHA’s Di-Bak T is a soluble capsule, precision delivery system for Tebuthiuron.  The capsule is placed in the weed trunk or stem where it dissolves, delivering the herbicide dose directly into the plant’s vascular system.

Benefits of BHA technology

  • easy and safe to use
  • no skin contact
  • no soil contact
  • no run-off
  • no groundwater contamination
  • no unintended mortality (by-kill)

 About Tebuthiuron

  • readily absorbed by roots and transported to leaves and foliage
  • only transported upwards through the vascular tissue
  • systemic and non selective
  • generally active against many woody plants
  • highly water soluble
  • does not exhibit strong binding to soil particles
  • has a long half-life (av. 360 days)
  • its high mobility in soil and long half-life has led to its use being banned in Europe
  • urea group inhibitor of photosynthesis photosystem II
  • Herbicide Group C classified

How does Tebuthiuron work?

  • binds to D1 proteins and blocks electron transport that stops CO2 fixation
  • causes the creation of highly reactive molecules that start a chain reaction destroying lipids and membranes
